Storage Ardleigh Green Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Storage Ardleigh Green in recognition of our responsibility to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation within our operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard individuals from exploitation.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Storage Ardleigh Green operates storage facilities and associated services for a wide range of customers. Our supply chains include providers of building maintenance, security, cleaning, equipment, utilities, professional services, and other goods and services required for the operation of our sites. While we consider our business to be low risk in relation to modern slavery, we recognise that risks can exist in any supply chain and we are committed to identifying, assessing, and addressing those risks.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Storage Ardleigh Green has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to our own activities and to everyone with whom we do business. We will not knowingly work with any organisation that is involved in, or associated with, modern slavery or human trafficking practices. Where we find evidence that a supplier, contractor, or other partner is failing to meet our standards, we will take prompt and appropriate action, which may include remedial steps, suspension of work, or termination of the relationship.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We expect all suppliers and contractors to uphold the same high standards that we set for ourselves. As part of our onboarding and ongoing supplier management, we communicate our expectations regarding human rights, labour standards, and ethical conduct. We seek to work with suppliers that share our commitment to fair treatment, safe working conditions, and legal compliance.
Due diligence may include requesting information on labour practices, reviewing relevant policies, and assessing suppliers based on their geographical location, sector, and the nature of the services provided. Particular attention is given to suppliers operating in sectors or regions where the risk of labour exploitation is known to be higher.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
To support our zero-tolerance approach, Storage Ardleigh Green carries out proportionate audits and monitoring of key suppliers. These audits may take the form of questionnaires, requests for supporting documentation, or site visits where appropriate and feasible. The aim is to verify that suppliers are complying with legal requirements and with our own standards on modern slavery and human trafficking.
Where audit findings highlight concerns or areas for improvement, we work with the supplier to agree corrective actions and timeframes for implementation. Failure to make adequate improvements within agreed timescales may result in a review of the ongoing relationship and, if necessary, discontinuation of supply.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage Ardleigh Green encourages all employees, contractors, suppliers, and business partners to raise any concerns they may have about suspected modern slavery or unethical practices. Concerns can be raised through internal reporting routes, including line managers or senior management, in confidence and without fear of retaliation.
We are committed to investigating all reports thoroughly and, where appropriate, taking prompt and decisive action. This may include engaging with the relevant supplier, seeking specialist advice, or reporting matters to the appropriate authorities. We will support individuals who raise genuine concerns, whether or not they are ultimately confirmed.
Training and Awareness
We recognise that awareness and understanding are critical to preventing modern slavery. Where relevant to their role, employees are provided with guidance on identifying potential indicators of exploitation, understanding our policies, and knowing how to report concerns. We strive to embed a culture of vigilance and ethical responsibility throughout our organisation.
Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery rests with the senior management of Storage Ardleigh Green. They ensure that appropriate policies, procedures, and controls are in place and remain effective. This Modern Slavery Statement, and the measures described within it, is reviewed at least annually to reflect changes in our business, legal requirements, and best practice.
As part of the annual review, we consider feedback from audits, reports received through our reporting channels, and any incidents or emerging risks identified in our operations or supply chains. Where necessary, we update our processes, strengthen controls, and provide additional training to ensure continual improvement.
This statement represents Storage Ardleigh Green’s ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking and to promoting ethical conduct and respect for human rights across all aspects of our business and supply chains.
